Enjoy this simple French Toast recipe that contains a hint of vanilla and cinnamon, a touch of sweetness, and crispy pan-fried edges. Serve this for breakfast or brunch with some sliced bananas, or berries, and maybe even a mimosa or two.
The best part about this delicious French Toast recipe is that you will typically have all of the ingredients you need already in your kitchen. I love a recipe that I can make at a moment’s notice and not have to worry about having all the ingredients!
Unlike most recipes, this recipe does not call for heavy cream as I find the right amount of milk and eggs is just enough to make the perfect French Toast. You can certainly use heavy cream or half and half if you have it, but milk works just as well. Any type of milk can be used: whole milk, skim milk, almond milk, rice milk, oat milk or coconut milk.
French Toast is commonly made with a dense bread (such as Brioche bread, French bread, or Texas toast) but this recipe also can be made with any bread you have on hand. I typically use whatever sliced sandwich bread I already have in the pantry and it always comes out perfectly. Although, I have always wanted to try making French toast using slices of my homemade banana bread. I bet it would be so amazing!
